Transitioning to a web-first newsroom and need multimedia storytelling skills ASAP? Students and advisers who attend this seminar will be immersed in a hands-on experience and acquire real world techniques that can immediately be put into action. Each attendee will be equipped with field gear (camera, wireless mic, tripod, etc.) and a Mac workstation with the latest editing software. Instructed by a former network videographer/editor/producer now multimedia specialist, each attendee will conceive, shoot, edit and export a short video story. Attendees will also learn to write companion copy, post content to the web, and embed projects on a custom-built WordPress site.
This seminar is designed for college student reporters, editors, television producers, and other media students and their advisers who need basic immersive training in web video production.
The seminar is limited to 20 attendees. Sessions will run 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Friday and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday.
